Cat Resting
Curious Cat

Our
Story

Whiskers, Inc., was founded in 2014 by 3 cat trappers, Debbie, Mimi, and Jenna.  They were doing TNR (trap, neuter, release) in Los Angeles and finding many friendly cats in the countless cat colonies they came across. They began adopting out these “friendlies” to loving homes. Over the years, Whiskers has grown to include more volunteers and a home-based foster care system.

Whiskers has adopted out over 3,000 animals since 2014. We pride ourselves on our personal touch in finding wonderful forever homes, as well as our life-long commitment to our adopters and our animals.

Since December 2020, we have been collaborating with other animal rescue groups in Los
Angeles to provide free spay/neuter services throughout the city. The only true way to reduce the number of homeless animals in Los Angeles is to provide large-scale, low-cost and free spay/neuter. We know people want to do the right thing by spaying and neutering. We just have to make it available to citizens on a much larger scale than what currently exists.

Our
Mission

Our goal at Whiskers is to be a voice for animals and help save as many lives as
possible. To accomplish our mission, we focus on:

  • dedication to spay/neuter, including TNR

  • rescue and rehoming

  • collaboration with other like-minded organizations

We want to be part of the solution to drastically reduce the number of animals
living on the streets in Los Angeles and the number that enter the shelter
system.

We dream of the day when all animals have the medical care, love, and safety
they deserve. Every day we take steps to bring that dream closer. Whether it is  spaying or neutering a cat, providing vet care to a homeless cat, or delivering a kitty to their new forever home, we never take our eye off the ball – a world where every animal is safe, loved, and cared for.

Our
Partners

Whiskers recognizes how important it is to work with other life-saving groups. We are proud to work with:

Animals In Need Rescue Network – collaborating to provide free spay/neuter.

George grew up with both cats and dogs.  He loves them all, but has a special appreciation for
the cute ways cats make us laugh.  He is President and CEO of Oasis Technology, Inc., an Information Technology company that specializes in data security and anti-hacking technology.
He is the technology expert for Whiskers and makes sure we take advantage of best practices in storing and protecting our information.

He has been involved in all aspects of animal rescue, but has a special fondness for transporting animals to veterinary appointments or their forever homes.  He’s a car aficionado who loves driving all over the Southern California area – combining that with animal transport is the perfect fit.  George has been with Whiskers since its inception in 2014.
